Spring Conferences
If you would like to schedule a parent-teacher conference for Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of next week, please feel free to email me Ms. Brewer at [email protected] or Ms. Daprile at [email protected] to set up a time. Conferences are by request only in spring, therefore not all students and parents will need to schedule a conference.

Relay for Life Fundraising
Mary Robinson has organized several fundraising dates at Safeway. For each hour we need 1 parent and up to 3 students. Please use the following link to volunteer
http://signup.com/go/svt4ne.
We actually have all day on each of the 6 dates. If there is enough interest she can expand the hours. Thank you for sighing up!

PURPLE BALLOON BOOK STORE
A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported the Purple Balloon Book Store. Together we were able to raise over $1,500 for Relay for Life! The students worked very hard and had a fantastic time designing and running their very own book store.
Classroom Updates
Math and Science
This week in science, we learned how to calculate densities of different saline solutions. Together, we practiced weighing materials, finding volume, and calculating density using a given formula.
Next week we will be working on completing our yearly MARS tasks. These tasks are designed to help students see what they need to work on before the CAASPP test at the end of the year. It is important for everyone to try their very best on these "math puzzles"!

Humanities
As you know room 105 was a very active bookstore all week! The 6th graders were busy helping run the store and/or working independently in the front of the classroom. We continued reading through Mrs. Frisby and the Rat of NIMH. Students worked on a summary comic strip, a characterization of Mrs. Frisby with supporting evidence, and a thinking chart making predictions.
Last week the students enjoyed their field trip the the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum. They were able to see first hand many of the artifacts that we study and learn of in social. Thank you to our parent drivers - Mrs. Wells, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Sin, Mrs. Conroy, Mrs. Rizzi, Mrs. J. Ferrante, Mrs. C. Ferrante, Mrs. Bacca, Mrs. Ramos, Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Grifall, Mr. Zahriya, and Mrs. Benjamin for making this trip possible!
