Minimum Days all Next Week
As this meeting is focused on goal setting, we would like to have all students attend with their parents.
Some parents have signed up twice. Only sign up more than one if you have more than one child. One spot gives you a ten minute meeting time with Ms. Daprile followed by a 10 minute meeting with Ms. Brewer. So you are getting two spots, but the sign-up is your start time only. Plan on twenty minutes for your meeting.

We are plugging right along! We will be finishing up Boy of the Painted Cave next week! Right after science camp we will begin a project that ties this story to the Hero's Journey. The students had a chance to watch the Hero's Journey TedEd video clip in class.
We have an exciting month ahead. We will start next week with our "Día de Los Muertos" Day of the dead project. There was an information sheet sent home with your son or daughter to give you some information about this important and exciting cultural event that is celebrated throughout the Hispanic world. If you have any questions or comments regarding what we will be learning please feel free to email me. I would like to stress out that we will be concentrating on the cultural aspect of this holiday and not on religion. We will make sugar skulls, learn about why this holiday is celebrated, make an altar to celebrate the life of a relative that has passed on. Again, if you have any questions regarding this holiday please let me know and I will try to answer all your questions as best as I can. My email address is [email protected]
This week in math we worked with different ways to arrange pennies in order to understand arrays and the ways to write corresponding equations about the arrays. Next Friday we will have our first test. I will be passing out a study guide for this test on Monday. Next week we will also begin learning about earthquakes and their impact on the environment.
