Science Camp Paperwork is Due on Tuesday!
As a reminder, Science Camp paperwork is due on or before Monday, Sept. 12. We will be sending paperwork home next week regarding parent drivers. We will need drivers taking students and luggage up on Tuesday, October 11 (leaving school at 8:30) and then picking us up again on Friday, October 14 at noon.
Charleston Wrap
We attended our Charleston wrap assembly today! This is a great fundraiser for the students. The money earned this year by students is credited towards their 8th Grade Washington D.C. field trip. There are a lot of fun prizes to earn as well, but the best is really working towards bringing down the cost of the field trip!

Math
This week in math we worked on creating our own histograms, also known as bar graphs. We also developed an understanding of the relationship between area and perimeter during the Tile and Toothpick Challenge. Next week we will begin using our textbooks and Ten Marks for homework. Ten Marks personal assignments are now available, but I will not start assigning them until Monday!
Science
This week in science we began our unit on extreme weather. We talked about the differences between extreme weather and normal weather. We also began our classroom weather log, which we complete everyday as a class. Next week we will start learning about different types of severe weather, as well as the impacts they have on the Biosphere and Geosphere.
