Language Arts
We have continued reading Tuck Everlasting and are nearing the end of the novel! This means that we will soon be preparing for our Socratic Seminar and then we will have the opportunity to watch the movie version.
Our 3rd trimester Literature Circle Books were handed out. The students met with their new groups, divided the book up into five readings, assigned jobs for each meeting, and received all of the necessary paperwork. Their meeting schedule and papers should be in their binder behind the homework tab. Meetings are schedule for Tuesdays and Fridays.
As always, it is imperative that students stay up to date with their reading and assignments. Their group is counting on them.
All students submitted an essay for this years Fourth of July Freedom Fest. Fingers crossed that we have a winner! Students are notified during the summer if they win.
Book orders are due Tuesday, May 6th. This is a great way to stock up on summer reading and support our classroom. Be sure to take a peek at this month's selection.

We are wrapping up Ancient China in a whirlwind of activity. Monday we are headed to the much anticipated Ancient Greece. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, May 25th. This is the day that the sixth graders will be holding their Greek Olympics and Greek Feast. The students will be putting out requests for help. They will need help with managing sporting activities for the Olympics, and for providing food for their feast. But first, the students need to plan. Stay tuned!
