The sixth grade is combining forces with the middle school Leadership Class to help Community Solutions with their annual Holiday Giving Program. This year we are collecting sports equipment that will be distributed to families in need. Students have an opportunity to earn extra credit points, AND as a group, if we bring in 45 items, we can earn extra recess! PLEASE HELP US SUPPORT COMMUNITY SOLUTIONS!

Language Arts and Social Studies
This week we traveled down the Nile river on a felucca visiting four ancient Egyptian monuments. Ask your child about this trip and what he or she learned. After visiting each site the students wrote a postcard to tell what they saw and what they have learned.
We are getting ready to start our next class novel, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. this is a wonderful fantasy tale that corresponds with our learning of what is needed for a group to establish a civilization.
