Rosicrucian Museum Field Trip - Wednesday, Jan. 6
Your child will bringing home a permission slip today to attend a field trip to the Rosicrucian Museum on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. Permission slips are due Monday, Dec. 14. This is an amazing Ancient Egyptian museum in San Jose. Since this is the week that we are returning to school after break, I will be organizing drivers next week. Please let me know if you are able to drive.
Students have been broken up into two groups. One group will be leaving at 8:10 and the second group will be leaving school at 8:45. We will be needing driver chaperons for both groups. Please note the time your child will be leaving campus. Their group designation (Pharaoh or President) is noted on the permission slip. Both groups will be back to school before lunch.
If you are able to drive, we need you to complete the driver liability form, attaching a copy of your driver license and insurance card. THIS MUST BE UPDATED EVERY YEAR!

Social Studies
This week in social studies we continued our trip down the Nile River where we visited four ancient Egyptian monuments. The students were busy writing postcards after each visit and then finished the chapter with writing a friendly letter highlighting two of their favorite sites. Be sure to ask them all that they have learned. We finished the week with their chapter 8 test.
We are getting very excited for our field trip to the Rosicrucian Museum that is Wednesday, Jan. 6.

MATH AND SCIENCE
We have been so busy finishing up projects! The TEN MARKS this past week has been very trying and frustrating for many students. The wording has been hard to understand! Please know that I understand and that I have contacted 'the Ten Mark powers" and given them feedback on this assignment. On the other hand, some students have amazingly shown great understanding of the questions and have explained their thinking to me in astonishing ways!!!! If your child is frustrated . . . have them STOP and email me!
Dates To Know:
Friday, December 18th - Ten Marks Red Sheet is Due
Tuesday, January 12th - Decimal and Fraction Test: Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing (I will send home a study guide packet next week)
In Science we have started tracking the weather in Morgan Hill and a location of choice. Your child should be tracking the weather of this location for the next two weeks.
