Classroom Updates
Language Arts
The students are busy building connections between The Boy of the Painted Cave and the Hero's Journey, and answering the question, "Is Tao a Hero?" They are working in groups to retell the story and explain how the plot line fits Joseph Campbell's mono myth using cave art.
The students turned in their first book reports and shields. They are beautiful! We have listened to most all of the presentations (a few will still go nest week). The students are doing a wonderful jobs with their first public speaking presentations of the year. Despite a few nerves, they are volunteering and presenting. I am very proud of all of their hard work!
Social Studies
Chapter four tests were returned to the students on Thursday. Test corrections are due on Tuesday. All students are able to take advantage of test corrections, however anyone earning 80% (B-) or lower is required to turn in test corrections. Test corrections consist of writing out the complete question and writing out the one correct complete answer. Test corrections are to be done on binder paper and attached to the original test. Each correct corrected answer is worth 2% points. Students should be using their text book to find the correct answers.
