Social Studies
We completed chapter 20 and took our test on the Shang Dynasty. We have moved onto studying the Silk Road, a 4,000 mile travel and trade route through China. We will be taking our very own trading expedition in our classroom next Monday. If we are successful traders and avoid the many dangers along the route, we will trade our goods with others to end up with five different items. Wish us well!
Language Arts
On Tuesday, the students enjoyed a green-themed potluck as we celebrated the end of the trimester with a publishing celebration. The students shared their writing from their portfolio or from the writer's notebook. It is always fun to hear them read their own work out loud to the class. Thank you to Sofia L. for planning and organizing the potluck.
We have started exploring the elements of persuasive writing as we prepare to write pieces of persuasion. This will be our focus in writing for the next few weeks.
